Sobok-sobok means something is heaped softly in Korean. Especially we use this word when a blanket of snow covered the ground.

Another meaning is that 'So' means laughter and 'Bok' means good-luck in Chinese character. Thus, Sobok means if you laugh, blessings will come your way.

 

 

 

 

 

Taste

If you are traveling around South Korea, it is a must-eat food. Beef is really juicy and soft. Base of marinade is soy sauce and it is a little sweet -neither salty nor spicy. The taste I think is perfect for everyone. Wrap the beef in lettuce and eat! It will be well harmonizing inside your mouth. Bowl of steamed rice is an extra add (1,000 won). If you order the rice bowl, small beef soup (without meat) will be served together. Side dishes are simple but in delicious balance with the beef.

 

Cleanliness

Restaurant is in good condition. Table/Tableware is clean and neat. Cook do not put on any sanitary tools such as hat, mask and so on.

 

Price

High : 38,000 won for one. But it's worth it.

 

Distinction

Restaurant is known as Korean President's pick-place and it's been 77 years since it opened in 1941.

 

Re-visit intention

I would like to have Beef Rib Soup (Galbi-tang) next time. This menu is also popular here and good to eat for lunch.
